The last couple of days I've been working on the new airport site. I can't wait until this airport is finished! (See my airport rankings blog). Of course, I am the only girl onsite, but I am working with a great group of guys. Respectful and hard working, plus the project is pretty well run. I did not expect that. We go to work at 7 and are off at 4. So while it has been an exhausting couple of days, it has been one of the best work experiences thus far.
Aside from work, absolutely nothing is going on. I stocked my room with some foods so I would not eat out and so far it is working. I have noodles, granola bars, fruit, cheap pretzels, cheese, pudding, water, tea, bread, PB&J and juice. I am working to save money and lose some weight so my goal is to eat this all week. We have a guy onsite who picks up lunch and he gets me a turkey subway sandwich each day, so that helps. We'll see if I can continue this at the main office.
I come home, boil some water for my noodle cups, and throw
in a movie or tv show from the ones I bought this weekend. I just finished watching the whole first season of 2 Broke Girls - hilarious! Tonight, I'll be watching Hunger Games. Unfortunately, the tv only has 3 english channels and sometimes the movies are good, sometimes they're really bad.
The most exciting thing today was our sandstorm! The engineers (I call them boys since they are recent graduates, but I probably shouldn't...) were onsite observing some testing so I was in the trailer alone. I was working and noticed the wind had signficantly picked up, and, yes, it was in fact a little dark. I moved to the window and holy crap! Sand was flying all over the place. I could barely see past my car. I tried to go out and take photos, but sand got into my eyes as soon as I opened the door. I think the maintenance guy onsite was laughing at me, but I couldn't tell through his goggles and face cover up....
