So off to Brisbane we went and Steve and Jenni said you should go to the South Bank as it is really nice. So off we pop with quite a few wrong turns even though we had the Sat Nav. Yes it was still my fault when we went wrong even though the Sat Nav Ozzie lady was telling Mike where to go - how does that work!!! Simple really, Mike says, you’ve got the pictures haha.

So we get a pass for the Cat and take a 2 hour ride along the river as I always think you can see a lot of a city going on the river. Whilst on the river boat it started to get really chilly and windy well 25 degrees - I can tell you we sounded like moaning poms alright. At one stage the river boat had loads of Americans on and we could not understand why until we got to one stop and they all got off and there was a really big cruise liner docked on the river.

After the river boat we decided to have a ride on the wheel it appears now every city

Do I really want to watch the jet skis - err no not when I have Sophia!
has a big wheel - I am sure us poms had the first one with our London Eye - market leaders us poms, ha ha. As I do not like heights where did it keep stopping to let people on and off - yes you guessed it at the top and do you remember I said it was real cold and windy so I am having a dizzy fit thinking we are going to fall and shouting at Mike to stop moving even though he was sat down and never moved - poor bugger.

So after I survived the ordeal on the wheel (think I should take up acting here I can feel an Oscar coming my way), we decided to go to the Art Gallery - big mistake as it was 4.30 by then and yes you guessed it everything closes at 5pm. So we had a quick look in and there is an exhibition on Portrait from Spain - Masterpieces from the Prado which is the largest and most significant international loan from the Prado so we have agreed that on Friday we will go back and check the gallery out.

So after a spot of tea we decide to return to home to Steve and Jenni’s. This time the Sat Nav lady got us home in one piece with only a few wrong turns - I think its her accent - maybe I could make millions having software in every dialect (make note look at the possibility when I return to Blighty).

We had an early start as the builder came at 5.30 am. The builder is Irish and when he told me to give Jenni and Steve a message that he would be here at 5.30 and I said you are joking arn’t you to which he said something and to be honest I could not understand a word he said, I thought he was joking. Well he wasn’t and at 5.30 there was a really big and I mean really big cement lorry, yes lorry not mixer on the drive. So a quiet day was not had by all. Mike took Jenni to the Opticians and I went to the shopping precinct - yes and I found it without the aid of the Sat Nav.

Yesterday we went to Disney wet place as I called it or to the knowledgable Sea World which is not even part of Disney - sometimes I wonder about myself, am I all there (answers on a postcard please only!)

Well we get there and the first attraction we see are the penguins. They are in a closed controlled environment and they were absolutely amazing - I would so love to see them in their natural habitat (need to add this to my bucket list). Then off to see Spongebob parade show - yes I went to see Spongebob and not only that I was waving to him and the characters. Now remember, I do not have little children, I do not watch children’s TV so what the hell was I doing waving!

Then off we go to the ray tank where you can stroke them when they swim past you - it took me several attempts to actually touch them as when they swam past I kept on chickening out. When I did actually touch one of them it was so slimy errr. We were all in a roll so off we went to see the polar bear - this was not good as he was not in a closed controlled environment and was on his own. I did not like this one at all and felt really sorry for him.

Next on our agenda was to go and see the Jet Stunt Extreme and some of the tricks they did were amazing I never knew you could do some of the things they did with a jet ski! We had lunch watching this show and my chicken burger was really nice (I will come back to this later on). So after this off we go to the Sea Viper roller coaster. As we were queuing up Mike says I have never been on this sort of ride before! I have made a note to make sure we go to Alton Towers in the new year as this ride was tame compared to some in Alton Towers. Anyway after a lot of screaming - yes from me! - off we pop to the Sea Lion Detective Show - I know how can I admit to watching a sea lion in a detective show. So after this we go to another ride this time it is a Jet Rescue - which is a jet ski on a roller coaster - OMG I must admit I thought I was a gonner on this one and my voice box is still hurting from all the screaming. After this we decide to calm it down a bit and go and watch the dolphin show. Whilst watching this I kept on burping my chicken burger up - not a good experience and if anyone goes to Sea World DON’T buy a chicken burger as it was not just me it happened to. Anyway back to the dolphin show they are such beautiful creatures and I so want to swim with them (so something else to add to my bucket list - swim with the dolphins - but not at Sea World). After this homeward bound we go as to much excitement in one day is very tiring. We are off to Brisbane again today to see the Portrait of Spain Masterpieces from the Prado - so restoring some culture in my life again.

Just a quick update on the bush fires for everyone they are still raging but not as close as they were - at the moment that is!

Hope everyone is well.
