Singapore Calling

Well just waiting for the plane now in Narita Airport in Japan to fly to Singapore. Having the lounge access is great - just to let you know I have had the shakes today as I walked past a Starbucks. Think I need to go to an AA counsellor, ha ha.

Anyway no incidents last night i.e. Mike did not go sleep walking in the buff. I have been doing some detective work (Mike in the dining room with the dagger) being Inspector Clouseau that I am - I think it was the sake he had before going to bed. May see if Singapore has sake so I can test out my theory - don't worry I will make sure he has some PJs on this time.

Touch down in Singapore - well what a place. We are staying at Raffles got a brilliant room rate through Dizzy Goat (yes, that is what I thought, who). Went out at night to the Singapore Harbour and they had fireworks and live musicians - it was brilliant. Don't know who told them we were arriving and to put on the fireworks show especially for us - but fantastic.

The room with have is 3 times bigger than the apartment we had in Manchester. It seems weird we go from the sublime to the rediculous in rooms - but hey ho that is what makes the experience so brilliant. When we arrived at Raffles they sat us down and asked us if we wanted a Singapore Sling - I go into Paula mode immediately and say no as I thought I only wanted to pay for one and that could only be in the Long Bar. To which he must have picked up on me not wanting to pay and said they are free - to which I could not get out "that would be lovely" quick enough. Still have to have one in the Long Bar though so think that will be tonights treat.

We are going off now to see some sights of Singapore and trying to find somewhere tomorrow to stay either in Singapore or move off to Kuala Lumpar. Will let you know later what the decision is.

Yes it is brilliant - we have now started to take it a little slower - mind you now on a tour of Cambodia, ha ha
