Babe in Raffles
Does he or does he not look the part or what Well decided we would stay another night in Singapore so two more nights to go. Went into the shopping arcade to book us a hop on hop off bus tour and got a real great deal which included a couple of water taxis as well including a trolley bus. The first trolley bus I went on was with my bestest mate in the whole wide world Sylvia in Washington. This one was not like Wally's trolleys in Washington with Sylvia and did not stop but really informative none the less. Mind you when I decided to sit at the back and was told by the man with the headphones on you do not want to sit there cause you cannot hear anything - I did what I was told - Cor in a different country I will do as I am told - need to take a note of this "PJ listen to when people give you advice and don't immediatley challenge them, ha ha".
So off we went of the non stop trolley tour - to find out the man giving it is a fanatical spurs fan and when he found out that Mike and I had been brought
Downtown Singapore
I Love Japan but hey ho how magical is this - who needs anything else when you have these and they have a beach on top! up on Spurs ( i.e. dad made me go every home game - although he always sent me down the front when he had a seat - that was before Hilsborough when you did not need to sit down) I was his long lost sister and Mike was his long lost buddy.
So tour completed and decided that we are going to enjoy staying at Raffles and went to the pool - yes they have a butler who takes you to the pool - how posh is this (I am sure they have no idea we booked this through Dizzy Goat for less than half the normal price !!).
Down again to the marina tonight for a meal - what did I do but forget my glasses - as you all probably know I am now as blind as a bat without my reading glasses - so I yell at mike what does the menu say as we also have live music on the marina.
Mike gets real annoyed with me as I shout I love fish in a load voice I dont want to know what meat they have tell me the fish!!!. Poor bugger, then tries to tell me what fish they have through a major concert of a woman walling about a loved one and me being not only reading blind also getting deaf ( Is there any hope for me - hope so putting my redundancy in medical science, ha ha). Sure I can try to bluff them into getting me new eyes and ears!! as my son is also a saleman so I am sure he could help in some way shape or form.
Is Singapore brill, yes in its own way, but is it better than Japan in no way. There are so many westerners here more than being in London but with the heat!
I know how lucky I am and will never forget it and to get VR (volunatory redunadancy) came at such a magic time, yes, I am going to treat me and Mr F to experiences we may never have been able to have achieved even down to us staying at raffles but then down to staying at places for less that £5 per night - experience everything!!
