Day 3 is done.

We slept until we woke up as we have done so far on the trip. Isn't that what vacations are for? Not to hurry, hurry on some silly schedule. We got up, made coffee in the room, had a couple of cups (can't get more than that out of this two cup pot), and then dressed for the day. Let's see, maybe we could wear swim suits today, you think? Have swim suits for each day except the days we are traveling (3 suits for 5 days). You wouldn't want everyone to see you in the same suit twice would you?

After a very good breakfast, we headed for the beach. We managed to get two great table locations, last night and this morning for breakfast. This morning, the wait staff sat us next to the 'work zone', where they were using jack hammers on the concrete and skill saws. We thought next time we will check out something else. There are 6 or 7 places to get food here. Last night we ate at the "Arizona", which is casual, and of course they sat us at the end of the deck right below the

speaker on that end. Now, I suspect they were playing music for the entire beach, because of the volume. The waiter couldn't hear our replies for what we wanted to eat. We suggested he turn it down. He did, and it made the rest of the meal better. But, since this is Jamaica, and in the islands, why do we have to listen to Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, and other country stars that I can hear in Houston? I WANT TO HEAR CALYPSO! I guess this is why Apple sells iPods huh? You get to hear your music when ever.

(Pushing soap box back under table) Now, back to todays activities.

We played on the beach, watched the boys dig up rocks, and looked at star fish, sand dollars. Now, the sand dollars here do not look like the sand dollars we see on the Texas coast. The ones we've seen at home are flat, like a thin cookie. The ones here are big, and look a lot like a big muffin, yet have the same star shaped image on the top.

The star fish you get here are fresh. I mean fresh. You pick out the

Off to the blue sea. Water is very calm, no big waves like Gulf Coast. Great ride
one you want, and the huckster (er, I mean salesman or vendor) cleans that puppy right then and there. Then you have to let it air out and dry, in the sun if you can. If you don't, can you imagine your luggage and clothes when you get it home? Hello zip lock!

We also decided to ride a sail boat. My honey did enjoy the ride on the little sail boat. Although it wasn't her first 'activity' that she wanted to do. We went for a long ride, probably 30 minutes or longer. We went out past the coral reefs, and saw water that was so blue. Gregory, our 'driver' (land lubber ahoy!) said the water was probably 40 - 50' deep at this point. Of course going over the reef, the bottom of the rudder rubbed the coral. We had a very nice ride.

Came back, rested on the beach while the kids played, then went to lunch, then to the room for a rest period. Not too long, because we wanted to catch the 3:00 snorkle boat.

Now, I have never done this, and it was breath taking. We saw all types of fish.
No Problem, Mahn.No Problem, Mahn.No Problem, Mahn.

Todd is NOT having a problem.
None very big, but lots of sea life, animals that have wavy things, black spiney things, some stingrays, the size of a dinner plate, little blue fish, silver fish, and one of the amazing things, an LSU fish. It was purple on the top half, and gold-yellow on the bottom. The colors are spectacular, and I might do it again tomorrow or Thursday.

A little more pool time, then supper, and some more relaxing time at the pool, watching the kids show, and magician's show. Then off to bed.

It was a tiring day. The sun takes a lot out of you. So far, I have only sunburn on the top of my feet. They are pink. Not blistered, just pink, almost blinking. I thought I put sun screen on them, but they must have been in the sandels when that happened.

We put the kids to bed, and let Todd & Yvette go for a stroll. They were back in less than an hour. Hey, I thought you all were going to go down to the beach? Well, we were, but the mood changed. It seems as one of the guests was walking on the concrete

and evidently blacked out, fell forward and split his head open on the tile. Todd was the one on site first. No one knew who he was, but some members of his party came and identified him. He was bleeding from the center of his forehead very badly. Yvette went to find a phone, and after the medics arrived, they decided they had enough for one night, and came back to the room.

Tomorrow is another day. Stay tuned, we'll be back tomorrow night.

Day 3
I just got back from a beach vacation, and seeing you on the beach lounger makes me want to go back. Looks very relaxing. Did you bring a book or magazine on the beach? Can't wait to see more pictures.
