Today was ridiculously busy. My feet are killing me!
I walked for 7 hours, and saw : the Trevi Fountain (huge), The Pantheon (Unreal, and my favorite sight so far.... I stood in there and just looked up for a good 10 minutes), Fontana del Tritone, Tempio Adriano, and then made my way across Rome to Vatican City. Now that is jaw dropping. The line up up get into St.Peter's was huge... But absolutely worth it. I went up to the cupola first, the top of the dome some 500 odd stairs later. And it's so odd, toward the top where the dome begins to curve the stairway is super skinny, almost claustrophobia tight, and angled sideway! So you're trying to climb this ridiculous amount of stairs while trying not to fall over. After that I went into St.Peter's and managed to sit in for mass with a few others... A once in a lifetime experience! Unfortunately, I didn't see the pope. I then went to the Vatican museum and saw the Sistine Chapel, which was absolutely amazing. The artwork is ... Honestly there are no words to describe it, it's just something you have to see. They don't allow pictures and expect complete silence, all the while there's hundreds of people standing beside you staring at the ceiling.

By the time I got out of there the clouds had disappeared and it was so hot and humid, I had to stop for gelato and a rest on the way home... Twice! I got back to the hostel and napped for 2 hours. Tonight I'm going on a small tour that's run by the hostel and will see some of the nightlife, but first Im going to go next door and have my first authentic Italian dinner. I didn't think I would like Rome, but I love it. There is so much character and history here.

Tomorrow I'm heading to the. Colosseum ... Can't miss that (can I, Adam!)
