As Time Goes By

Three of us gathered at Secret Garden this evening to celebrate C's belated birthday. Friends from school since 2002, we are coming close to our 6th year of friendship. I have so "many" friends left from my childhood legacy. Its only natural to put in more effort for the "friends" that have accompanied me this far.

B told me that he went there before and food was alright for the price he paid. We decided to give it a shot. Afterall, it's always great to try out new places to eat in our crowded island. Located about 10 minutes walk from Bugis Station, the food was relatively ok for the price but the quiet ambience quickly made up for the whatever shortcomings in the food.

Without a doubt, the night passed away quickly as we teased each other about our lives, my "42" joke, travel plans and the fears of getting old. And of course, the uncertainties of what lies ahead for all of us.

S is kissing goodbye to her job soon before enbarking on her tour of North America. C is still adjusting well even though her stupid boss who was caught peeling oranges in the middle of a meeting is driving her crazy.

For me, it's either a make or break from my current ricebowl. Without a doubt, this is going to affect my summer holiday plans to Beautiful Formosa.

For now, I'm just looking forward to my railroad journey to the Malaysian capital. Any difficult decisions and the shitty Kentucky Business can wait till after the holidays.

Enjoy your Vesak Holidays.

P.S. This entry is partly inspired by the songs of the Carpenters who brought much joy to the author's life for the past decade.
