so yeah, i guess i´m going to the cadiz this weekend with like 20 ppl to just chill out on the beach. we found a pretty solid hostel that´s like 16€ per night which is sick. we´ll just go on saturday morning and get back on sunday. the bus is pretty cheap too. Also we 11 of us booked a trip to the canary islands which is going to be awesome. we leave feb 27 and get back on mar 2. our hotel, not a hostel, we´re doing it big this time, is walking distance to the beach and to the centro. i´m told it´s like hawaii but off the african coast. and then not this upcoming weekend but the following one there is a school trip to granada which will be cool.

the food has been good so far and i´ve been eating some stuff i never thought i would for example squid and shrimp in a soup. that´s like 3 newish things for me. it´s like 1 pm now and we just grabbed a quick tapa near school. obviously i don´t know everything on the menu but we´ve never gotten something that wasn´t decent. there was stuff that i knew was good but i decided to be adventurous and get the boqueron frita. what could be fried that isn´t good, right? so i get curious as we wait and i was a little surprised to discover that boquerones are anchovies. friggin whole fried anchovies. everyone else got really good stuff and they all shared a little bit with me so i didn´t starved. i´ve eaten everything that has been put in front of me but like a full fish now matter the size is in no way appetizing to me. maybe i´ll try one before i leave.

classes are all great. i switched from my business one to artistic monuments in sevilla so that all of my classes were in spanish and it ended up being pretty cool so far. we talk for part of the class and then just tour the city and see cool stuff. in 45 minutes we saw the jail where cervantes was held and an urn on the city hall where the ashes of a saint are. it´s going to be cool. my other favorite class is spanish painters. we´re talking about el greco right now and it´s really cool to learn about paintings. our teacher is soooo knowledgable and we´ve only talked about like 5 or 6 paintings in the last 2 classes. usually if i go to an art museum i don´t really know all of the info to fully appreciate the paintings and this class is really helping. also, there are only 3 ppl in the class: laura, michele, and i. it´s pretty sweet.

not too much else going on, frisbee at 5 which i´m excited for. i might try and break up the walk and do some skyping half way through or figure out the bike rental system finally. it´s about 50 minutes to walk i´d guess since last time i wondered for a while since i couldn´t find the field. i´m excited to get some more running in.

so yeah, it had been a while since i posted and i didn´t think that much happened but now i´m starting to realize how much different stuff is going on! whew, i need some almuerzo and a siesta. hasta luego, gentemia.
