Our first stop was the Valley of Fire in Nevada. Let me tell you, this place was definitely hot! The entire landscape was red and desert like. We did a short hike over to Mouse's Tank. An alleged Southern Paiute Indian renegade named "Little Mouse" hid out there in the 1890's. He was accused of gunning down two prospectors and many other crimes in the area. He was finally trapped in July 1897 but not in the Mouse's' Tank. He was caught a few miles away by the spring at what is today called the Muddy River. The official story is that he was surrounded, refused to give up and he was shot.

In the afternoon, we drove to Las Vegas for some gambling and buffet eating 😊 I made the whole group head over to the Startosphere to try out the new roller coaster. It is a swing ride that hangs over the edge of the building 100 stories in the air. It was scary! Then we went to the bar for the best bloody mary I've ever had (Ok, I've only ever had two). Then we went downstairs and hit the buffet. I was so full!

We also checked out the new Wyn Casino. It was very nice.
