We were supposed to go to Arches National Park today but there were huge forest fires that came across the highway so we had to take a detour that led us through a completely different state, not just a few highways. The drivers decided that Canyonlands National Park was a good alternative.

We stopped off at two different locations in the park to see the canyons. They were beautiful. It looked a lot like the Grand Canyon. We were able to do a hike to an area called "Island in the Sky" and check out Upheaval Dome, which is hypothesized to be created by a meteorite that struck 60 million years ago.

After the park, we headed to Moab for some dinner. It was still hot as hell so we found some where with air conditioning fast. Also, since we were in Utah the beer was only 3.2 percent which was a big disappointment for the boys.
