Well I think this maybe a trip of a lifetime for us. We are getting ready to sail across the Atlantic which is such an amazing thought and on a Tall Ship, what more could you want.
We have now sold both our holiday cottages which gives us back our freedom to travel which we both love dearly. I have decided as this is such an epic trip I am going to keep a blog of the adventures.
We start our adventure in Lisbon so this is where I will start the blog tomorrow. We are also being joined by friends Eric and Sue. We met them on the Star Flyer which is another Tall ship in 2017 when we sailed from Athens to Malta. I must admit I have always said under no circumstances will I ever go on a cruise - so when I booked this my first thought was WTF have I done - 5 days on a cruise - my worst nightmare!!!!!!!
Well worst nightmare started with a welcoming drink in the tropical bar - Oh no I thought this is everything I hate! So when we got to our cabin -I said to Mike no problem we only have 5 days left - but who would have guessed it, we absolutely loved it. We have since been on 2 further cruises and as such are now old hands at this sailing lark, shiver me timbers, ha ha.
It feels really weird writing this blog from the Radisson Blu as this is where we started our round the world trip!!
Looking forward to getting to Lisbon tomorrow to also meet Albert and Helen. Albert and Helen are another couple we met on previous cruises and they will be departing from their latest cruise. Both Albert and Helen are amazing photographers so I maybe nicking a few of their photos for my blogs!
Anyway if you have read my blogs before you will know that you will no doubt have a chuckle along the way with my adventures.
