Slowly, very slowly.....we are getting ourselves all settled in as we settle down. It’s so nice to take things at a slow pace. What an extreme. Before we left “home”, we were working at “our house” and polebarn like busy, busy beavers. Cory carried more of the load than I did but cleaning and scouring our house was no little task for me. I was whipped when done. Lulu supervised the whole process. But we all know how limited her participation was. Now, here at Tropical Palms, we go for morning coffee at the lobby. Art and Ray are there for us to chat with and just relax. So great being with them again. Hopefully, the rest of this coffee klatch group will be joining us soon. Wonderful to see all the familiar faces of the staff who work here. Definitely feels like we are home again. We have done most everything we want to do regarding “setting up”. We still have the lawn
decor to go. Our lucky, golden cat is back in the front window - waving at you as you go pass. Wave back if you want “Good Luck.” Lulu is perched right next to it. She would wave but you know her limitations (no arms). Cory hasn’t put up our canopy yet because we have Steve of “ Top of Line” coming tomorrow to wash and wax our motor home. It doesn’t get as filthy driving down at this time of the year. When we used to come down after Christmas, it really looked bad and pathetic: salty, filthy and drab. Steve would make “PP” sparkle. We had to wear sunglasses just to look at it. A true brilliant box.Today, the place where we store our golf cart, delivered it to our site. It was all shined up and looks right spiffy. They fixed a couple issues we had had with it. Lulu jumped aboard as soon as it hit the ground. Cory and I took a ride around the park checking out everything from one end to the other. The park looks very nice. The management has made
a 4 1/2 page listing of all the rules and regulations for everyone staying at the park. One is to keep your place neat and tidy. The majority have complied. A few seem to have a lot of items stacked around their places but maybe they are still working on it.Nicki Joe has a big brochure about all the activities and information regarding them. Upcoming parties and events are listed with dates. She said more may be added. She has a nice, big calendar available, too. It all looks great! She has done a super job as activities director. One of our big events was to go to my favorite store. Do you remember what it is? You got it! Walmart! I love Walmart. Faithful Steve is still there to greet you. I savored each step I took up and down every aisle. Cory was less enthusiastic. We drooled as one of our favorite eating places, Bar Harbor, drove one of their trucks in front of us. If only
they would deliver to our campsite! We’ll go to their eating place soon to get their delicious seafood! Best food! Best prices! We actually, also, went to Camping World( Booooo) cause Cory needed an attachment to our sewer line. It has enlarged its store/building by twice its size. It now has tons of hunting and boating supplies in it. Remember how it is changing its name to Gander?Good friend, Art, came down and helped Cory hook up our TV’s. He is such a smart and helpful friend. He is truly the “to-go-to” guy for any electronic issues. We have smart TV’s now so it will take us awhile to get to know how to operate them fully. Art said he would help us. Three cheers for Art: hooray, hooray, hooray! We called Fast Wave and have out internet all hooked up.Weather has been warm and muggy. It rains everyday....some days much more than others. Today, I watched as it came down heavy in an area about 15’x15’
with the sun shining the whole time.....it was dry all around this spot. Crazy! Have been using the a/c cause it gets just too hot inside our RV even with our fans running. But we aren’t complaining. Looking forward to our electric bill. This weekend we are going to Sarasota, Florida to see our daughter, Lory. She is going to be there for a week on business. We have made reservations fairly close to her hotel where her meetings are being held. She offered to get a room with 2 beds but she deserves the luxury of a king bed to herself. We have stayed in that area when we camped at Sun n’ Fun. It will be great to be with Lory and explore some of our old haunts.Didn’t see any alligators in the park’s pond but they might have been hiding on us. Lulu was disappointed. Some cranes were enjoying the deck at the pond.Okey Dokey. That’s it for now, folks. Hope you are enjoying the
beginning of our respite here at a Tropical Palms. Definitely, it is a true place for a long desiredR & R.
