This is the second episode of video blog to present a slideshow of my journey through my dreamland Africa. I have tried to capture the imagination of my viewers through my lens presenting a slideshow with my narration. It is the beautiful Masaimara! Many come here for safari and I also enjoyed the safari. But generally, I want to stay away from the tourist attractions. I love my lonely planet of Africa where the blooming Jacaranda and thorny bush land of Africa cover the landscape, the red earth picks up the stormy dust and the herd of elephants often takes shelter from the hot afternoon sun under Acacia trees. That is my Africa where I can listen to its story on my own. I love that Africa. As I have mentioned often, the movie “Out of Africa” is my most favourite movie. Just like Denis Fynch said in the movie, “I don’t want to live someone else’s idea of how to live.”And exactly that is what I feel when I travel in Africa,- I want to feel the continent in my own terms.

I was sleeping in a tent in Masaimara when I woke up in the middle of the night feeling some curious animal breathing on my neck from outside the tent. I could hear its cautious footsteps. I got out my sleeping bag, set my headlamp and went outside the tent with a stick. A hyena lost its curiosity and fled in the darkness of the bushes. It was a full moon night. I sat on a stone outside and listened to the jungle around me. Night birds were singing non-stop – ti ti ti ti, an owl hooted from a nearby tree, some nocturnal creatures sounding their uneasiness at my presence from the bushes and the jungle around me was showering in the confetti of the silver moonlit night, dripping down from the trees and the leaves – drip, drip. I don’t know how long I was sitting there…I was in a trance. That is the Africa I love, that is the Africa in my vein and that is the Africa I own, in my heart.

Since the last video blog failed to appear in the website for some reason, I have added the clip for the viewers who did not have the opportunity to view it last time. For others who have already seen the first clip, you may straight jump to the second clip. Again, these are short clips, around 4 minutes each. Hope you enjoy!

Take Notice
Indeed, such an incredible animal. Honestly, I felt like getting off my cruiser to give them a hug! Eddie, my driver told me, "Don't you think about it for a moment! We don't carry body bags."

500 word?
Perhaps your entries are not showing up on the top page because they are too short. I think to show up on the home page blogs need to be a minimum of 500 words with 4 photos.(I've made that mistake, too!)

500 word?
Hi Karen, perhaps you are right. Although the purpose of a video blog is to shorten the text, I think I will go for 500 words on my next one. I have now added few more words to make it 500, but I suppose unless it is republished, it won't recognize such addition. Thanks for your advice, Karen!

Another brilliant video blog Tab and loved the photo of the giraffe with the two zebras equally framed between the trees.
