Hi! We are 2 female travellers going to Turkey this coming October and we are planning to rent a car in Trabzon. This will be our itinerary:
Day 1
Arrive 9:50am At Trabzon Airport
Rent a car
Head to Sumela Monastery
Lunch
Head to Uzungol Lake
Head to Demirkapi Plateau
Head to Rize
Dinner
Check in at Ayder Yaylasi (around 9pm?)
Day 2
Pokut Yaylasi
Firtina River
Ayder Plateau
Check out Hotel
Drive back to Trabzon(around 7pm)
Dinner along the way (Rize town)
Trabzon Airport
Im wondering if our itinerary is ok? and do u think it would be safe for us to rent a car and go on tour by ourselves? Are the roads safe? or is too steep? Pls do give us advise. Thank you so much!

Reply to this Hi, You should be fine within the immediate area of Trabzon but caution is needed if you go further towards the Syrian border. Watch out for the driving, the Turks are mad! Sumela Monastery is lovely but parking can be difficult due to high volume of tourists.
