Does anyone know anything about getting a coach/bus from Dubai to Oman - and what the journey is like if you have done it.?

I may be going to Dubai to visit a friend in January- I used to live in Dubai and nevre made it to Oman - so would like to take a trip there - I though a bus might be more interesting than flying.
Thanks. Reply to this

It is an approximately six hour bus trip between Dubai and Muscat. There appears to be a few companies travelling the route, one I have been able to uncover is the Oman National Transport Co and the bus number is 201.

I've not done the route so would be interested to hear any reports. It would be a good way to see the scenery as opposed to being in a plane. Reply to this

There will be small mini buses that will go to Dubai, from Oman don't know the cost, but it will certainly much cheaper than flying, and more interesting!

Also taxi are very reasonable, and worth checking out. which again would be far cheaper than flying. Although, yes you will miss the hassle at the border if you fly

The normal time for the journey by car is about four hours, maybe a little longer by bus.

I have done the journey. There are several companies that go from Dubai to Muscat, it takes as said around 6 hours. Bus is comfortable enough. You get off at the border for the formalities, no problems and everything goes very smoothly. So not to worry. Reply to this
