Aha! Ben, now I remember you from this photo Ben! I read your blog about Myanmar and emailed you around January 2009 asking you about it. I seem to recall you witnessing a fatal motorbike accident...that was a tough one. Funny how I've come across you again on this site.

Here's me being miserable on a miserable beach...hehe

Hey Sepulchre, that's right about the motor cycle accident in Myanmar - funny how things come around, and funny that you remember the incident. They just let the guy lie on the street after the accident, with lots of people around, and the blood from his head wound was literally running down the street. When my friend whom I was travelling with at the time tried to give first aid and put him in a stable sideways position, she was pushed to the side as "nobody was allowed to touch the guy until the police arrived". The guy died a few hours later. We have always been thinking that he could have lived with some quick and appropriate treatment. It was a real tragedy in my opinion.

Thank you for your tourism (Chaungtha Beach, Southern Myanmar) Reply to this
