I am planning for a trip to Australia this August and will be arriving at Melbourne from KL. Problem is, i will be staying in a relative\'s house at Canberra . Can you guys suggest me any cheap mode of transportation to get there? Thanks in advance 😊
Reply to this Hello Yanyan, the cheapest way to get from Melbourne to Canberra is usually the bus - but it takes about 8 hours. To get the bus, you will need to get to the CBD, which is cheapest by the Sky Bus - so this will add to your cost; buses in Australia are much more expensive then in Indonesia.
However, if you are able to get a very cheap airfare to Canberra through Tiger Airways, Jetstar or Virgin Blue, it will be the same price and much quicker. Some Melbourne flights leave from Avalon Airport (as opposed to the usual Tullamarine) - so be aware of this if you need to change airports. Personally, I would avoid landing or leaving from Avalon as it is a long way from Melbourne.
