Hi all,

So I'm an Australian citizen by birth but have lived in the States for the passed 10 yrs. 5 yrs ago, I went home on my oz passport and got a speeding/talking on the phone while driving fine (yeah i know, i forgot about that rule). I'm travelling back to oz for the first time in December but on my American passport, as an American citizen, I will have my daughter (american) with me so I didn't want to be going through different immigration lines without her. So my question is, will those fines be picked up at check-in in Australia going through on an American passport? my Australian passport has since expired and I wasn't planning on renewing it either. I've tried to call a bunch of times but I get put on hold forever.
And I don't know if this matters but my oz passport is in my maiden name and my us passport is my married name.

Thanks in advance

Meg, you should not encounter any problems if you have paid your fine. Reply to this

Hi Meg. When you apply for your Australian visa there is a question regarding previous criminal convictions. I don't think a traffic infringement falls into this category but, if you want to be sure, you could declare your traffic fine there. I don't believe you will have any problems as long as you have paid the fine.
