we are due to spend two days in puerto iguasu next month - the hostel we booked in offered us a tour of the falls including a speedboat ride for 200arg per person - is this a good deal? is it as good to 'do it yourself'?- advice??
Reply to this Doing it yourself is always better for me where the option is available. There is a public bus service in the town that will drop you straight to the falls and back. I'm sure you could then get the speed boat cheaper. Its not a place you need a guide for unless you want the flora and fauna pointed out and described. A good map, sun cream and a good pair of walking shoes. There is a lot of walking!
Reply to this I second that! I was happy to be able to take the time to see everything at my own pace and saw no need for a tour. You are kept to defined paths through most of the park and should have no troubles. Enjoy!
Reply to this many thanks - sounds like unanimous vote in favor of 'do-it-yourself'
