How important is bringing an umbrella?

I'm going to Europe in late March until late June. I will be going to a few western countries but mostly eastern Europe.
Do you think I will need an umbrella?
Did you bring an umbrella and how often did you use and were you glad you brought it?

Hello Lorriann 😊

I live here in Europe and never use an umbrella, because I dont like them. It may or may not rain in June. It can happen too that the whole month is rainy in some parts of Europe. A matter of luck I think. If you dont bring an umbrella, then maybe a light raincoat with a hood, that packs very small and light.

Hey
You don't need to bring an umbrella. If it is very rainy when you are here and you think you might need one there will be lots of shops and stalls selling one, so you can just pick one up. Reply to this

Umbrellas can also be useful for the sun. I met very pale skinned English girl in India who had one, to prevent getting burnt. I might take one to SE Asia when I go there this year, for the same reason. I dislike sunburn more than I dislike umbrellas. Reply to this

I carried an umbrella throughout autumn and was SO glad I did! Sadly I left it in the hostel one day and had to buy another one. :p I swear by them. But that's because I don't really do rain coats. When you wear glasses an umbrella is really the only way to keep the rain off your face properly. Reply to this
