Hi i\'m Matt, from Birmingham.

Me and my wife are planning a 6 month(?) trip around parts of the world. We are just starting out so any advice is greatly needed if possible.

We are looking to see how much we need for the whole trip, altogether. We are also willing to work where possible, for extra cash or accomodation for the experience.

Any ideas on how much for the average 6 months? and best places to visit to fulfil enjoyment, see other cultures, get involved with others, and for stories to tell.

i know that is a bit vague, but for a bit more info, these are some places we would like to go, obviously not all are a definate, and open to others being added, but we want it to be a great trip, but without unncessary money being wasted when not needed :-

London
Dubai
Abu Dhabi
Delhi
Bangkok
Beijing
Tokyo
Hong Kong
Manila
Sydney
Fiji
New York
Rio
Miami
Bridgetown

We know financially these may not all be possible, but we are looking for a bit of info and advice of people who know more than us.

Can anyone give advice on what i have written? and information on places stated, and pricing options etc? thanks in advance, i will provide more info if its too vague, thank you kindly

Greetings to everyone.

Hello Matty 😊

Some of those places you listed are expensive. For this trip I would try to have 100 Euros between you per day, as a backpackers budget. You might not need that much, especially in places like Delhi, but best to have a margin of error. This is not including flight and visa costs.

Hey Mel thanks for the reply 😊

Thanks for the info, have realised some of the places are expensive and also noted that some are not as important as others to me on this trip so was looking at something like -

Dubai
Delhi
Bangkok
Beijing
Tokyo
Manila
Sydney
Fiji
Rio
New York
Cape town

The more expenisive places we will be stayin for around a week, but the cheaper places we will be staying for longer, like 3-4 weeks. What are the most expensive and cheapest overall, taking accommodation and daily money in to account. I have a rough guide which i have got over the internet, but prefer people direct who have experienced any of the above to give their ideas.

Looking forward to this, things will change slightly i know, maybe add more if its worth it, and remove others if its not.

Thanks for any help and ideas,

Matt. Reply to this

The cheapest by far would be Delhi and Bangkok. Manila would also be inexpensive.

New York, Tokyoand Rio are expensive.

I havent been to the others, so maybe somebody else can comment more accurately. 😊 Reply to this
