...travel starts soon.
heading east transmongolian and then SE Asia, India, Malaysia, Indonesia down to OZ, South and Central America and wish to finish with our family in Chicago - probably broke but incredibly happy ;-) all 18 months we hope ;-) everything that is green on our map is our plan (excl South Africa) ;-) we don't make it obvious cause people at work don't know - only close friends ;-)
How did the budgeting go - I saw some forums you were talking about it??
Reply to this Budgeting was fine (China & SE Asia) until we hit Australia - ouch! Man that place just ate money!
Your trip sounds fantastic! I hope you're going to blog?
Reply to this We found Oz to be expensive food wise also. I think the food was a bout 2 to 3 times higher than here.
Reply to this Congratulations to all of you who have recently resigned. You have an unbelievable adventure ahead of you. We can't wait to read about your travels!
We still remember very clearly the day we turned in our resignations before our around the world trip in 2007. The feeling will stick with you for years, at least it has in our case.
Re-entry into the work world was easy for us when we returned because we are both nurses. We didn't go back to the same jobs but finding employment was not difficult.
Happy Travels everyone.
Reply to this yes, we may be skipping Oz cause prefer to go to South America ;-) We will see how the money goes and of course we will be bogging;-)
Reply to this Congratulations to you and wish you all the best for your journey. As per my view you have done a good job but full of risk .but now not worry you have to enjoy your vacations and enjoy a lot. You might be very much excited for your journey. Wishing you a very happy journey.
Reply to this I've been looking for this thread for a couple of hours.

Re-entry was tough.
We have dreamed of going again.
And .....now.... we are....
We are heading to Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, the Shetland Islands, Denmark, Germany, Nepal, Tibet, Ghutan, Myanmar, the Philippines, Hawaii and Cuba.
Reply to this two months notice, you guys are great. I have to tell my boss I am leaving in 5 weeks and don't think I will tell him more that 2 weeks ahead.

Hi Nick,
We are both in management and it is the norm and expectation to give 4 weeks. I gave 8 because the position will be hard to fill and I like my co-worker so I want them to have some time to make a plan.
Adios & see you ......some where.
Reply to this Fab news Dave and Merry Jo;-) we are going to Philippines in a month time and cant wait... Myanmar was a great place too - loved it...good time to go now before changes arrive from the west;-)
happy travels;-)
