Greece: Athens-Olympia-Zakynthos by land/sea?

Does anyone have any info on travelling between Athens and Olympia overland and travelling to the island of Zakynthos by ferry??

I'm trying to find the cheapest/easiest way to travel between Athens and Olympia, and also a ferry timetable from Greek mainland to the island of Zakynthos, but cannot find anything very helpful!

We are looking at train or bus really as we do not plan to have a car! Time and cost info would be much appreciated as would tips on places to see on the way!
