Hey I am planning a trip for september and plan to keep going till the money runs out. I have put it of and put it off but have decided to just go for it.
To actually make it happen i booked myself on a volunter project not far from bangkok to work with elephants.
So my plan is after 3 weeks of volountering i thought i would head back to Bangkok then travel up to laos and travel overland over laos, vietman and cambodia.
From cambodia fly back to Bangok and travel down to singapore overland then fly over to NZ to work for 6 months
Maybe see abit of malaysia brifley depending on money
I can\'t decide what type of flight ticket toget as Idon\'t really want to be against time?
Orginally i was thinking of just buying tickets when and as but after looking into that i didn\'t think that was making best use of my money .
So then I thought I could get rtw ticket with very few stops, buying internal ones were needed from air asia of somewere. could this be a good way of doing it?
My problem is all the ones i have looked at or made up you have to put in dates and i don\'t want to be tied as im not sure how long to give each place.
Would a rtw ticket be cheaper or would you recomend buying tickets when and as? Is it expensive to fly from South East Asia to NZ?
Reply to this I found the best thing to do was ask my travel agent. They're generally very helpful and knowledgeable. I personally am buying as I go but that's because I'm only doing Europe, not RTW.
Reply to this Also if you look further down the page of this forum there is another thread about this.
Reply to this Hello Gemma 😊
My guess is that for the number of flights you are taking it would be cheaper to buy individual tickets.
You can get the best prices for individual flights by using a good internet search engine. Be flexibable about the flight dates and buy as much in advance as possible to get the lowest prices.
The search engine I usually use for longhaul flights is
www.billigfluege.de You could try some searches, to get an idea of what the flights might cost if you buy them individually, rather than getting a RTW ticket.
