Hi, I'm 28 and I've always wanted to travel but I never had the chance, after beating cancer I now want to chase my dream and see more of the world, please give me some advice?
Here are the promised threads about carrying money Liz. 😊
Moneybelt
How Did You Carry/Access Your Cash?
On the plus side you won't have the sames concerns about carrying cash that you may have in other countries
Do you mean the crime rate for things like muggings and robberies is low in Japan, Jo?
Reply to this Hi!!
Sorry I've been so busy trying to get ready, I cant believe I only have 1 more day left!! eeeeeek
I'm in major panic mode now!!
Thanks so much for all the advise above :-))
I'm so scared and nervous now.
What if I get stuck at Narita Airport (I've printed out the directions and advise, but what if????)
I'm also scared about the people I'm going to encounter in hostels and out and about. Everyone tells me that
everyones really friendly and down to earth, but I'm one of the shyest people ever.....
I think I better get some sleep, will be back tomorrow with more quesitons.
Nite xxxxxx
Reply to this Good Luck, just enjoy it. Just think, all these questions, will they matter in 15 years time? Your traveling, you have nothing to be shy about, you already have a starting topic right there. Tell me about yourself.
Reply to this Hi LizO.
Singapore, is the most expensive country in SE Asian standards, in fact, it's becoming more and more like New York/Tokyo.
I suggest you spend less time in Singapore, and more in Bangkok. The interesting fact about Singapore is that she's a melting pot, therefore, you'll be surprise to know wherever you go, there's always food stalls/restaurants/bistros selling almost every type of cuisine you can think of - Local, International etc.
And you make me excited since I'll be leaving for Vietnam again this coming Sunday, and finally, a big trip starting off India. I can't wait to experience India, and from there I'll travel up north to Nepal, back to India and to places like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran etc.
LizO, I know it's a bit too late now to reply this post, however, I wish you best of luck! I am so envious now and I wish my whole life revolves around travelling.
😊

Reply to this Liz,
My blog is about exactly that topic, what I call "working vacations" where you live and work overseas for periods of about 3-4 months. Maybe you would like to do that rather than just visit a country. By living there and working there you get a much better sense of what a country is like and what its culture is. Otherwise your view will just be that of a hotel-bound tourist. Check it out.
