Buying a Backpack in China

I'm in China teaching English for six months and I think I want to switch from a duffel bag to a backpack.

I'm teaching in China for six months and moving around enough to hate my duffel bag. I'm already in Hohhot and have been looking at 60-70L bags but they cost around 1,000 kuai. I was wondering if anyone had bought a backpack in China, how much it cost, where you bought it (off the street, trekking shop etc.) and if it held up at all.

Thanks for any insight you can give. Reply to this

Hi Kaye,
Guess you might stop by Beijing after Hothot, if this is the case would simply recommend to visit one of the many Decathlon there :-) They have got good bags and the one I got has hold for 9 years already!
Do not buy it off the street or in fake markets, quality is important when it comes to your backpack, and those would not hold for too long,...
Enjoy your trip around China,

Laetitia,

You confirmed my suspicions, I was worried I'd need to go to Beijing. Out of curiosity do you remember how much you paid for the bag?

Thanks. Reply to this
