Accommodation prices in Iran

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone could advise me on the price for accommodation in Iran? I\\\'m on a budget so I wanted to try and find out the cheaper options! It\\\'s quite difficult to find out without actually being there! Is it possible to sleep for less than $15/20 a night? Reply to this

Hello Tom 😊

You could get places to stay for around 5 Euros per night. This is especially easy for men, as you dont have to consider safety so much.

I had a dorm bed in Esfahan a couple of years ago for 3 Euros per night.

You will find inexpensive accomodation listed in the Lonely Planet guide for Iran.

Brilliant! Yeah I'm going to get a Lonely Planet this week. That's really useful to know and I'll definetely be visiting Esfahan. Is eating out relatively cheap as well? I'm a student so I'll be on a proper budget. I'm only going to fly as far as Istanbul and get the train to Tehran as this works out at about a quarter of the price! Reply to this

There are not many restaurants to go to, but what is available is inexpensive. There are plenty of kababs and roast chicken about. Also, the tea houses have snacks such as soup and maybe something with rice.

Another option would be to try the restaurants in big international hotels. They dont seem to serve traditional Iranian food, but they have Italian food which is the trendy thing to eat in Iran. I am not sure about the prices because I only went into those places to score good cups of coffee. If coffee is important to you, then those are the places where you can get a nice espresso. The coffee was something like 50 cents a cup, so I doubt that the food is ourtrageously expensive despite the fancy surroundings.
