resort recommendations?
15 years ago, February 24th 2009 No: 1 Msg: #63978
Im tentatively planning a trip from March 2010 - Feb 2011.

I will be in SA from March - August. Im hoping to end up in a good spot in argentina to do 2 weeks of some serious snowboarding. Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations about what resort to hit up? Ill need to rent equipment (as im not bringing my deck on a year long adventure) and i will want to stay pretty cheaply.

Thanks for the help! Reply to this

Ah...that's a trick question....if you book long time in advance, flights through Buenos Aires are a good option....if not bus....but be ready....Buenos Aires-Bariloche is 23 hours!!! I don't think they have direct flight and yu need to look for buses from Mendoza...beside that...renting a car maybe an option, it's all depend of many of you are travelling together. Reply to this

ill be with my boyfriend.

23 hours sounds terrible! is it a pretty ride or just painful?

i guess flying through BA is the way to go. this would be our finale for south america b4 moving on to other parts of world. might be nice to not deal with that much bus time. Reply to this

I tend to agree with you. If you fly in the region , you may look at the South American pass from Lan.com. They have Lan argentina in it and Lan chile as well as Lan Peru...may help you to keep the budget.

Have fun!

They have indeed great long distance buses...with big seats that can recline properly...and where you should be able to sleep... Reply to this
