"The Doves - Last Broadcast"
Kim, i have not had time to edit this, and this spanish keyboard is tricky. Don't worry i will clean this up! love ya!
During my 32 hour lay over in Toronto, almost all of that time was spent at the Sheraton Bar conversing with a loony drunk Vancouverite and a loud and obnoxious Indianappleton. Don't worry, my behavior was exemplary. There was the odd random question that I am famous for my strange comments. I boasted of my travels to South America while they, my two old drinking partners, are stuck in Toronto due to the snow storms in New York. Too bad for them! I am glad my trip to South America has started off so well. Getting laced with two old men and blowing a weeks budget in Toronto is exactly what I had in mind while I prepared for my trip. At least my drinking partners were too drunk to realize that Suzanne and I were sarcastically insulting them the entire time! Aaahh.. but they were nice guys! Don't remember their names, oh well!
My head is spinning, time for bed. Off to Santiago tomorrow, although I
may have a few drinks before I board the plane!

Sweet Baby Jesus, I am in Santiago! This has been a long time coming now. It feels good to be here. I feel a little bad for my friends and family back home that are suffering through another Canadian winter...... WAIT, no I don't! I feel an instant release from previous stresses. Food and
two crazy brazilians
these guys are TROUBLE drink has never tasted so good! And with the catharsis of being here at this particular time and space. I can't help but think about how WONDERFUL my Merino Wool socks are. But really, this place is something special. With in 60 seconds of arriving at my hostel i was out with a couple Brazilians and a Dutch dude drinking a litre of beer. you can buy a 1 ltr bottle of beer for 1.50$ canadian. So its much cheaper then water. we just drink beer. next we needed to eat. we found a place that serves pizza and hamburgers. i ordered a plain cheese burger, i got a burger loaded with mayo and diced tomato and no cheese to be found.
But i ate what i could. we then decided to walk for elevendybillion miles.. touring santiago. around 5 or 6 we got back to the hostel. i took a freezing shower.. one of many to come and changed, grabbed a nap then went out to eat something real. we went to this¨highend¨ restaurant.. but the decor would rival the playboy mansion from the 70s. we had ceviche which consisted of a bowl full of mystery raw sea food.
i ate it non the less. i was hungry. Andrew and i went for an amazing walking tour of the city today, day number two. it was very interesting to hear about the history of santiago and chile. following the tour we hiked Cerro San Cristobal. It took us a couple hours to reach the top and we had an amazing view over looking the entire city. The sign of progress, also known as SMOG hindered our view.. still it was amazing. We hiked the hill, cerro means hill, with four awesome brazilians. Very nice and they sure love learning how to offend people with english sarcasm. Quick learners too.
So now it is the morning on new years eve and Andrew and I are hitching a ride to Valpo through a contact I made through CoushSurfing. A ride to Valpo with a strange Chilean guy. Should be fun, but I know he is a cook at the Hyatt. So we are off now.
Ciao!
