Today we had a ´free´day from the tour group and was able to explore what we wanted in Areqipa. (This is second largest city in Peru, and populates about 700,000 poeple). We went to the Santa Catalina Convert. This still has nums living in some of their grounds. This is really the only cultural thing we did today other than wandering around the Plaza. We found some nice places to have some drinks on the top of the terrace overlooking the plaza and we had some food on top of a terrace too. The weather was really nice today it must have been in the 20´s whch is pretty good considering its winter here!

There are lots of local dishes to try in his ares some of their dishes include Guinea pig, stuffed peppers, prawn soup and suckiling pig!
