Okay, so I have been gone for almost a month and I haven't posted a blog yet. For those of you receiving one of these for the first time, welcome. For a quick recap, I left The US on Tuesday, the 11th of April. On the 10th of April I sold the last of my stuff, my mountain bike and my car - fly girl. I only got $150 for fly girl!!! That night I went to a Utah jazz basketball game with my friend Dex. I got free tickets from work - the tickets had a list price of $99 each, almost one and a half times what i got for fly girl, for a basketball game
Before I left I was fortunate enough to see my cousin Kerry and her family in park city. The one unfortunate thing about traveling is that there are long gaps between seeing family and friends.

and told me I left it. The flight went well, I had a lay over at GWB airport in Huston and then on to Buenos aires. I sat next to a guy form Holland who owns a restaurant in Bolivia so I will try to stop in there. When I arrived in Buenos aires it was a nice day, about 80 degrees and sunny. I figured why spend a night in BA, I should catch the night bus to Bariloche. I went to the bus station and they had two seats left on the 7-12 bus (sorry cant find the colon button). I thought, how lucky because Easter is this coming weekend. I had two suitcases full of stuff that I was going to get rid of in bariloche. When I arrived at the bus station it was crowded as all get out. I see the bus for bariloche and bump into a lot of people with all my stuff to get to it. it wasn't mine, it was the 7-05, I didn't realize there was a 7-05, well I see another bus a few minutes later and bump into more people, not mine, it was the 7-02, hmmm. A
little late I see another one and bump into more people, - not mine, it was the 7-08. You get the picture. Anyway after bumping into more people and sweating my ass off I find the 7-12 bus. I think there were 15 or so buses leaving at around 7pm. So now I am thinking maybe I should have made plans and reserved a bed at the hostel. When I showed up, the hostel was full of course. But I was able to find a bed and I was able to get into the hostel the next day. Well, I got rid of all my stuff and as for plans - still didn't have them. I took a bus with a Canadian couple (Luke & Sylvia) to go further south. Speaking of plans, I still have not opened my travel guide book. Maybe that will be my next plan - to figure out where and what I am going to do.
click here to see a few photos of bariloche I took an overnight bus to??? Then caught another bus to??? And then I ended up taking another bus to el calafate where I am now. I am going to take a tour to
some glacier -perito merino tomorrow and then probably take a bus at 3am to go to ushuia, the furthest southern city in the world (supposedly).
click here to see a few photos of El Calafate I am now in ushuaia, I arrived last night after a 4 hour and then a 12 hour bus ride through Argentina, then into Chile for a while and then back into Argentina to ushuaia. Hopefully I will do a little hiking here before heading on. I am not sure where my next destination is, I better open my guide book since I can't go any further south (except to Antarctica).
click here to see a few photos of Ushuiaa Actually riight now, the 5th of May I am in Bounes Aires. For the guide book, i think I will open it tomorrow. I am checking out the real estate market here to see if this is the place to buy. Real Estate is not cheap to buy, not expensive either. about $60k for a 600sq ft 1 bedroom. compare that to New york. the cost of living though is cheap compared to US prices (this is for the benefit of the non travelers) the other night i went to a very nice restaurant and i had a steak that should
have fed three people. it was 10 inches long, 4 inches wide and 4 inches thick - the cost¿¿¿ $9. wine is about $2-5 a bottle, vegetables are cheap, health insurance - dirt cheap... hmmm maybe i should buy because when i am older i wont be able to afford health insurance in the US. i can at least eat steak every night here in argentina!!! For those of you looking for investment properties, why buy a $400k place in a country with almost $9,000,000,000,000 in debt when you can get one for $65k in a country that is not dependent on foreign oil?? ok, enough on the property i have to get the fotos uploaded. nos vemos mas tarde
