Era un tiempo largo desde mi ultimo entrada. No se donde a comencar. Mi escuela segunda es terminado, y tengo tres semanas mas in Buenos Aires. Me Encanta Couchsurfing.org! Tengo lugares gratis para dormir por los tres semanas proximas.
I finished up my first School and between the two schools I was staying at the Gecko Hostel in Palermo. It was a really nice place with really friendly staff. There are a few photos below. During that weekend I wandered around Palermo and strolled through Rosedal, a gorgeous rose garden inside of a huge park, there were lots of photo opportonities there as you will see below. While I was walking through the park I could constantly here dance music pulsing away in the backround, and finally I decided to go check it out.
When I arrived at the source I could hardly believe it, it was the "World Skate Championship" for rollerskating! hahaha! So awesome, I had no idea rollerskating was still around, but it's a big deal here and apparently very "cool!" I spent an hour watching all the skaters do tricks and skate up and down the track between the cones. It was pretty awesome.
On Sunday, I moved in with my new host family, and the last two weeks have been really great! The new Spanish school, COINED, was so much better than the first one. There was much more of a community atmosphere, and I made a lot of friends there. I know have facebook friends in Sweden, Germany, England, Ireland, Romania, France, Italy, Argentina, Brazil, and Peru! Pretty awesome! The classes were great and I learned a lot, I was in a class with three Brazileños and an Italian, who all talked really fast and understood Spanish way better than I did. If only I had been a native speaker of one of the Romance Languages. Our teacher, Ticiana, was really fantastic, totally hillarious, and of course gorgeous. And once again I found the entire class was very interested in US customs, and I sadly realized that high school really is the same as in the movies.
The new family that I have been living with are fantastic as well. I live with Graciela, her son Francisco, and his girlfriend Gianina. All wonderful people. Fran and Giani are total metal heads so there's always some hardcore music coming out of there
room and I can usually been seen headbanging across the hall while I attempt to read in Spanish. A couple times I went out with them and their friends and we just hung out drinking cerveza and fernet on the street and in plazas (they're not old enough for bars, but old enough to drink), and talking about music, North America, and politics generally until about 5am!
And one more thing, I got a temporary job working as a busser in a bar for a few events at a bar showing the College Football Bowl Games! It's pretty sweet, but here's a bit of travel advice for all of you: Don't ever work in a kitchen of a country with less than stringent health codes, I don't ever want to eat out again. I was in charge of cleaning the dishes, too bad we were out of soap... Really hot water works just as well, right?
