So we found ourselves once again, sitting on white cushions, being served tea, and treated like house guests and royalty as the fourth generation silk merchant - the elder man in white - educated us at great lengths on the history and intricacies of silk production, then presented us with countless examples of beautiful items from his chests.
The man on the far right is Mannu, our hotel guide. The man in the checkered shirt is the silk merchant's son, currently a student at BHU, studying Business Administration in preparation for his family role as the fifth generation silk exporter.
