Day 29, Triacastela, Less Than 140kms To Santiago

Sarria is tomorrow, Triacastela is not an option on this site. The walking today was mainly on natural paths and was quite steep both ways, up and down. We passed though early morning oak forests before climbing into the high country and being treated to some of the most amazing country scenes you will see anywhere. Ah, generous, green Galicia, natural paths and public albergues
Pretty amazing that the poorest province in Spain was also the most generous--witness the lady with the pancakes and "free" public, church-run albergues. Like you, I saw pilgrims with their Gore-tex, etc, who didn't always think to repay the kindness of strangers, but good for you. Paths on the earth, just like in the Medieval times--aren't they the best! And those albergues--it often seemed as if there was an orifice chorus, but we survived on the amazing Way. Buen Camino!
