The 101st Airborne captured Berchtesgaden on May 4, 1945. This might have been inscribed by the first US troops to head down into these rooms. Who knows what they might have seen or taken back home with them. Stolen Nazi loot? I've been watching too much Military Channel.

It was another night of hacking and wheezing on my part. I'm fine all day but as soon as I lay down I start coughing. It must be the down or feathers in the comforters.
