German-Austrian Border

Back in the good old days there was a border post here. It looked like a turnpike toll booth - one for the Germans and a few hundred feet farther onward was the Austrian. Now there are just a couple of tiny signs. Crossing from Pennsylvania into New Jersey is more eventful. Just a few miles up the road we stopped for gas for the third time. This would be a complete fillup however. The Austrian gas prices were significantly cheaper than in Germany. But I was beginning to wonder if the gas mileage on this car was lousy. We were only getting 21-23 mpg. I expected much better. I'm hoping European premium is not up to the standards of American.

It was another night of hacking and wheezing on my part. I'm fine all day but as soon as I lay down I start coughing. It must be the down or feathers in the comforters.
