Deshnoke Rat Temple
February 18th 2010 So there is a place on the way to Bikaneer in Rajasthan boasting the "world famous" Rat Temple. Here is a temple where rats run free and are fed and nourished by pilgrims from afar - but certainly by the locals as the rats are all re-incarnated ancestors and other loved ones deceased.
The deal then is that the rats in turn (when deceased) reincarnate into new towns folk.
