Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk (Nortre Dame or Church of Our Lady). Erected on the site of an earlier chapel in the 12th-13th centuries. Built in 1297. Mariastraat. "Notre Dame (Flem. Onze lieve Vrouwenkerk), another early-Gothic structure, erected on the site of an earlier chapel in the 12-13th centuries. ... The tower, 400 ft. high, was completed in 1297, the spire being restored In 1858 and the turrets at the angles in 1873. The beautiful late-Gothic addition on the N. side (ca.1470) was originally a portal, named 'Het Paradys'. The W. front was restored in 1907".--Baedeker 1910. DSC_1095

Our visit to Bruges was a day trip out from Brussels. The Globus tour bus let us off at the Bargeplein coach park. Unlike similar facilities to enable the touring of city centers, this one is in a very attractive park-like setting and within walking distance of the historic center.
