Wooden Pulpit

Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk. Wooden pulpit designed by Jan Antoon Garemijn between 1739 and 1743, and realized in oak, by a master carpenter J. Clauwaert and sculptors Jan Van Hecke, Pieter van Walleghem and Ph. Scherlaecken. The figure on top represents Truth (Veritas). Representation of the twelve Apostles stand against the pillars in the nave. Our visit to Bruges was a day trip out from Brussels. The Globus tour bus let us off at the Bargeplein coach park. Unlike similar facilities to enable the touring of city centers, this one is in a very attractive park-like setting and within walking distance of the historic center.
