Kurfürstliches Palais - Electors Place. Roccoco residence of the Archbishops (Electors) of Trier. Built between 1615 and 1756. Rebuilt after World War II. "Bounding the Constantins-Platz on the E. are the Palace Barracks, formerly the palace of the Electors, with late-Renaissance portals in the court, sculptures on the facade, and a baroque staircase dating from 1701".--Baedeker 1910 DSC_0692

Trier was an afternoon excursion out from Luxembourg. I had last visited Trier in 1970 and was eager to visit again. It is only a short distance from the Luxembourg border.
