"The Church of Notre Dame, or Onte Lieve Vromvekerk, a late-Romanesque edifice of the 11th cent., erected on Roman foundations, has been restored since 1895. The massive W. end Is flanked by two round towers (restored). The late-Romanesque choir, with its ambulatory and columns with richly decorated capitals, dates from the beginning of the 13th century".--Baedeker.
