Richard and I
No one likes getting their picture taken while they brush their teeth Songs/Music That I Have Grown to Enjoy
Since I've been in New Zealand I have discovered lots of different songs that I have been unaware of, or just never thought about how good/funny they are. So I have decided to journal all the new music that I have gotten into since being here. Basically, the list is going to be songs that (in the future) will remind me of my time here and will bring back memories of friends and good times I have had.
Jack Johnson -
Sitting Waiting Wishing This song will always remind me of Kristina. She loves Jack Johnson and during my travel with her it was a never ending topic of conversation
Bob Marley -
No woman No cry Andy and Paul from the backpackers in Wellington talked to me non-stop about Bob Marley, and I have grown to enjoy his music, especially this song
Pic of Destiny Soundtack -
Entire Album Richard bought this album and we listened to it often in our room in Wellington
Europe -
Final Countdown Ha-ha this song rules. Plus there is a techno version that I heard in a club
one time when I was out on the town with the gang from work
George Michael -
Careless Whisper There is a story behind this song. This song is on that movie "A Night at the Roxbury" which I have seen a number of times. One night in Wellington I was in this girl Laura’s room with Darren and some other people and they were listening to this song. They were all singing it really loud and they knew all the words, plus we were all drunk so it made it even funnier. But the fact that "they" liked it so much was what was so funny to me about it. Listen to the song and picture it.
Third Eye Blind -
How's It Gonna Be Sneaky Sound System -
Pictures (Tonite Only Remix) I have heard this song a lot since being over here. Every single time I go out to a club I hear it. I have lots of memories in Auckland and Wellington of late nights out at the clubs dancing, and it never fails, this song is always played.
Black Seeds -
Turn It Around / So True / Cool Me Down / Fire - These songs will forever remind me of the Buzz Bar at the Downtown Backpackers.
Incubus -
Are You In? - Another song that is played in the bar a bit.
Taupo Trip
I have to explain the picture of Richard in the McDonalds Plane. Richard is my roommate in Wellington. He's one of my better friends, and him and I made plans to go sky diving. So we rented a car ($70), drove up to Lake Taupo ($Gas), stayed in a hostel overnight on Saturday (hostel $21), woke up Sunday morning ready to jump out of a plane and why didn't we do it? The weather wasn't good so we couldn't. So we ended up spending all that money and didn't even do it. Which kind of sucked, but it gave us a chance to get out of the city for a day couple days, so that aspect was alright. Anyway, In Taupo there's a McDonalds that bought an airplane and painted the McDonalds logo on the side, and stuck it right in front of the establishment by the road. They built it onto the building, so if you choose to,

In McDonalds Airplane you can walk up some steps and dine inside the plane. I'm kind of bummed because the picture didn't come out very good, but if I make my way up there again I will take a picture of it from outside. But basically we were sitting at the tail end, and I took a picture of him while looking up toward the cockpit. It was funny to be sitting on a plane eating McDonalds. You don’t see anything like this in the states, that's for sure. Well, I haven't anyway...
