C'est officiel! J'suis maintenant un vrai surfer!!!

Salut tout le monde! Ca fait longtemps qu'on vous a pas ecrit de ti message... Eh bien on avait pas tant de choses a dire et pas full de photos pis de toute facon vous les aurez pas encore tout de suite... Mais bon pour les deux dernieres semaines... Pour la semaine du 10 juin... Le lundi au travail on nous a dit que ca serait une petite semaine... On travaillait pas le mardi, on a donc decide d'aller a Raglan destination des Surfers. Donc mardi apres midi j'ai (simon) pris un cours de surf pendant trois heures. (Marie en a pas fait elle avait mal dans le dos... ne vous inquietez pas c'est fini... le mal de dos) C'etait vraiment cool! Le cours etait donne par une surfeuse!! Hehe! OUFF!! Il s'en ait passe des choses depuis le dernier post! commencons par le debut: Lundi, le 21 mai: Si on ne travaille pas demain, a cause de la pluie, on sacre notre camp d'icitte! Mardi, le 22 mai: Il pleut encore... on ne travaille pas... ON S'EN VA!! Il nous restait deux choses a faire dans cette region : la plongee et le Kiwi House! Destination : Tutukaka!! la ou nous avons planifier notre plongee pour le lendemain.. nous nous sommes ensuite improviser un camping sur le bord de la beach ou nous avons marche sur la beach, ramasser des coquillages (marie, hehe!) et ou nous avons dormi. Mercredi: a 8h00 on etait au magasin de plongee... Attention: on annonce de forts vents et les Poor Knigh islands sont a 25km des cotes alors on ... read more

So our time in New Zealand has come to an end...And what an end it has been! There are certain things I have noticed about Kiwis during my time here...I will take a moment to pen some of these thoughts and observations; They like to drive with their fog lights on (with or without fog) They like to grow fruit and vege the size of your head They like to shorten words - e.g. 'w' we would say 'double-ewe', they say 'dub' They have some crazy traffic rules that hopefully will be out of my system by the time of my return to Britain or I'll cause chaos! Updated 19 MAR 07 We then drove from Mt Maunganui via Okere Falls to Rotorua. We tooks some great pix while traveling around the western side of Lake Rotorua (see Pix). Its now 1630 hrs (4:30 pm) and we have checked into the Rotorua Royal Lakeside Novotel, have unpacked and are relaxing. I have sent Wendy to the bathroom for a bath to unwind. She is currently in there relaxing complete with a glass of Pernod and girlie mag in hand. Of course I’m relaxing here online typing this up. See the first pic of our hotel room view. Today was our last day in Rotorua but we had the whole day here before catching the bus later in the day. Unfortunately that also meant checking out of the room early and storing our stuff in lockers. I managed to have my money stolen twice by a locker and when I approached the owner about it he just laughed in my face and told me not only could he do nothing as he didn't own the lockers but that I was stupid and the first person he'd come across in the time he'd worked here who had tried to put the wrong dollar coin amounts in the lockers- so because of this needlessly, nasty piece of work I really don't recommend anyone in Rotorua stay in Planet Nomad Pack packers. Merry Christmas everybody. Woke up and oped our pressies which was really nice. NIcki had brought over some gifts from home so it was really nice and we all got each other gifts too. Then had a nice fry up! Then headed to the beach. Id like to say it was really nice and hot but it was pretty cloudy, warmer than it wold be at home though. PLayed some frisby then headed back for our roadt turkey. It was good. In the eving just played drinking games with everyone. Went shopping to get our xmas dinner sorted for tomorrow. In the afternoon went to see Holiday at the cinema which was nice and xmassy and reminded us of home. IN the eveing played some bored games and had some mince pies. I hope i have been a good girl so santa comes...... read more

Wedding on the beach

Spent the day on the beach today. It was really cool as i was reading my book loads of people started coming on beach in suits and smart dresses etc. Then they had a sound system. Then three guys who looked like men in black walked across beach, then three bridesmaids and then the bride! It was so nice watching it, i nearly cried!! It was pretty hot today and even though i thought i coldnt tan any more, had factor 25 i managed to burn!!! Just goes to show how scary the rays are out here.... read more

Actually walked to the top of the mount today with a french guy from the hostel. It wasnt too bad as its not that high but the views at the top were good. In the eveing went to an indaian with a load of people from the hostel as it was one of the boys birthdays.... read more
