Hello everyone. Great to hear from you all!
We would like to congratulate this month's lucky winner is Janet & Keith! We managed to eat a whopping 48 sausages in total within a couple of weeks and we have eaten Deer a few times.
Since writing last, we were moved out of the host's house into our own lodge. However the first lodge we were moved into already had a tenant (Mr. Rat). He nibbled our bread and even made an apperance one night on our dinner table. We ran out that night to the next lodge which thankfully has no other guests.
We managed to do quite a few things before we left Auckland and one trip included attending 'The Biggest Christmas Party In The World'. Although we went before it started as it started to rain and the show seemed pretty talentless. We watched a bit of it on TV the next day and thankfully we were correct. However we did have a nice time at the venue before the party while it was sunny.
We also had a nice day trip up to Orewa beach (40 minutes from town) and it was really beautiful. It was our best beach in New Zealand.
In the rest of our free time we have enjoyed watching televsion (as they have 6 episodes of Coronation Street a week)!! Bobby was also very adventerous and swam in the pool (but only for a couple of minutes as it was too cold).

The next day was Bobby's 23rd Birthday. And how did we celebrate it?? We decided to catch a flight to Fiji! We we got up at 4am and got on the plane at 7am. We had a fabulous breakfast which made up for the awful film. We arrived in Fiji three hours later and the weather was lovely and warm. We were picked up by our resort which was right on the beach in Nadi. We then went to town and started shopping already. We checked out the local supermarkets and the food is lovely and cheap. We then bumped into a Fijian Santa Claus too!We also visited the biggest Hindu temple in the South Pacific and it was lovely and colourful. Bobby says it reminds her very much of Barbados.

We had a nice beachy day on the following day. We started off with our breakfast on the beach (which is included in the accomoation price). We then had fun collecting shells and swimming in the warm sea (for the first time since Mum left in Thailand). There were very few people on the beach and as per usual Bobby got sun burnt! The sunset in the evening was also fab.

Yesterday we went to Latouka, which is the second largest town in Fiji. We went to the Botanical gardens and we did a bit more shopping. We also went to the local market and bought 15 bananas for a whopping 30p!!!

Although we have seen a few military people, the coup is not noticeable at all. Everything seems like it is the same as normal. All of the miliaty people shout 'Bula' when we go past which means welcome so they are not too scary.
Now we are in Fiji, we are back to our 'Thailand' diet which is noodles and more noodles. Thankfully at the moment we are not sick of them yet.

Bob would like to say thank you for all the birthday wishes and presents, especially the car from Ken. She suggests that you keep it in the garage to stop it going rusty.

Catching Up
Lip-smacking, stretching noises, a few yawns, coffee slurp... Where was I? Oh yes, you, Bobbies were trying to convince us that the copies of posters which you sent us would fool us into believing that you were in Australia (late August)... well, you haven’t convinced ME yet, and I’m sure most of your other readers are just being kind with their OOHs and AAHs, while they give each other knowing winks. How many different angles of the Peacehaven beaches can there be??? You really bent your credibility out of shape, when you went for a trip out to Kings Cross and Paddington, what were you doing, collecting train numbers??? Describing Croydon as a lovely little town on the edge of the city, Hardly describes the slum we all know but can’t park in. COME ON!! Either you’re in Australia or hiding in the Acme Scenery Warehouse in Basildon!! Don’t say how nice the Sydney Opera House is, and then say you visited Hyde Park, PERLEEEASE get your hemispheres correct. Talking about getting things correct, the place where (I assume) you met your Uncle Ken is spelt O-X-F-O-R-D not O-T-F-O-R-D. I’ve been a little worried about him lately, the young whippersnapper, wandering up and down rivers, doing Paul Robeson impressions. Views of the New Forest are very nice, but not very convincing. Couldn’t Acme rustle up a stuffed, ‘roo for you to photograph to add an air of authenticity? Horseys and sheepys we got; to say nothing of catys, doggys and budgies. The Blog,”Bobby Makes Friends With Skippy...” got me excited for a moment, I thought you might have found a still from the popular TV series to back up your claims, but still no picture of a marsupial. Ho Hum... Pictures of duckys and some village church spire together with views over the South Downs were very nice, but, to be frank, not REMOTELY, Australian. The views of Franz Glacier were spectacular, tell, Acme Posters. 10 out of 10 for the names you made up for the supposed trip around New Zealand (Crystal Palace Lakes, South Downs and Canary Wharf). Where did you get, Wanganui and Rangitoto from, my guess is that you drew the letters from a bag of Scrabble letters, am I right? “Fiji”, Congrats on reaching 23, Bobby. That must be the first time I’ve EVER wished you a happy birthday, HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! There, I did it again, and I feel really better. So, did the Acme people give you a cake? Did it rain in Basildon on that day, Peacehaven beach looked quite dry... Talking about sending greetings. Basildon or Battersea; Peacehaven or Canary Wharf, wherever you are hiding, Have a really GREAT Christmas and a supremely happy 2007. Lots of love, Cuz John. P.S. Please send my best wishes to the guys at Acme Scenery Ltd., who have done a superb job this past year. JB
