We left Coral Bay, after three chilled days, and arranged to meet Hayden and Sian (who can leave later as they drive faster!) at Nautarra Roadhouse. But on arriving there at 3pm and finding next to nothing, we agreed to drive onwards to Paraburdoo. We had no phone signal so a note was left on the roadhouse door for when Hayden & Sian arrived! On arrival at Paraburdoo, we found there is no campsite! So we found a carpark next to some public toilets (classy) and Anna bunked in with us! A (scared) hour or so later, Sian & Hayden came along, set up tents on an exposed grassy area and settled for the night! Just as well it's only an overnight stop in Carnarvon, the place is a bit of a hole for want of a better word. A less sulubrious venus is how Andrew would put it I think. We only stopped here to break up the journey North and our accomodation was a palacial 1970's static caravan with full floral decoration and chemical toilet. Andrew (not used to the caravan high life) spent most of the night lying down after continually bumping his head on something every time he moved. I convinced him it would be safer if he just stayed still.... read more
