Well, allot has changed the last month. My friend Nikki, from Calgary, arrived from the Gold Coast at the end of October, so I have had someone to accompany me for the last while. She also convinced me, with little resistance, to switch hostels to one right in the heart of St kilda. which is much closer to everything. Shopping, groceries, bars, internet access, and people my age and only a minute to the beach. We took a short tour of the hostel, X Base Backpackers, and found it to be much more like a hotel than anything else. Quite nice. Only 150$ a week. So I have since been living there. Meeting loads of people from all over the globe. Been having an absolute blast. St. Kilda is a very trendy beach community right outside ... read more

Hi all. With 2 weeks off work to get organized (and those of you that know me know I can be anal retentive in this area) I am busy organizing for our trip. We have the camper, we have the car, we are starting to pack and will hopefully be ready to leave on the 2nd of January. The going away do is set for the 17th of December, open house bash in the forest (which is the closest thing we will have for a home for a while) which we hope if you live locally will come and enjoy. Hopefully for those of you who are computer literate we will be able to keep in touch and keep you up to date with our travelling adventures and misshaps. Don't forget to e-mail and phone and ... read more

First stop, pardon, premier arret, Arrarat. On a meme pu s'initier a la recherche d'or en milieu fluvial reconstitue, resultat ... read more

Well, after waiting and waiting to find out when my work commitments here would end, I finally found out that I am free FFRREEEE!!! So, I booked my ticket straight away and gave myself 3 days to pack and organise. Less time to worry. I leave early Friday morning, so I have a lot to do in the meantime. This is a little constrained by the fact that I seem to have pulled a muscle in my left shoulder. A 21 hour plane flight is a bit troubling at this stage! My thoughts are mainly focused on the fact that I am leaving my beloved husband and cat for three months. I will miss them both terribly. I am also extremely worried about the squalor the house will descend into with Adam living on his own! ... read more

Hey mates!

(Photos will be added soon) I went to the Deakin (University) End of Year Ball on Friday. Don, Malik, Marrika, Klauss & Michael study there so I tagged along with them. It was held in the Palladium at Crown (huge casino in Melbourne) which is a really magnificent room. As we arrived we were greeted by wait staff with trays of drinks and some Show Girls (the theme was Vegas!). It was a fun night, although a little bizarre to be eating dinner with dance music playing. It was only on from 7pm to 12am so I guess they were just trying to fit different types of music in, but I think they could have held off till desert! The food was delicious and drinks flowed all night. There was a small bit of dancing before ... read more
