Have been requested by three ppl to blog along some more! Well if I'd known I'd have written something by now and due to my utter exhaustion I can't go back more than two days! so here I go! Yesterday was rather delightful! We went to Lorne! It's a beautiful beachy area! Amazing but over two hour drive! So after being forced (what will I do jump out of the car?) to listen to my cousins alternative music (Is alternative for a reason!! Lol jks juju) we finally get there! And u know what the first thing we did was? Beachside shopping! U know what I bought? U would really really never guess! A deep fried marsbar! Sounds disgusting right? Repulsive maybe? WRONG !!! It was all goey and melty and gahhhhhh (dribbling in my mind)! ... read more

Hiya everyone.. Well we had a lovely day today. The sun was shining this morning so we got up and went for a walk down the beach and to the bluff. Mark told me some stories about how they used to try race the waves to the jetty and end up wet.. don't mess with Mother Nature! We packed up the car and had a drive around Barwon Heads, checking out all the changes that have happened to the place in the last 20 years... progress darling! lol Then we went to visit one of Mark's old mates, Russell, before heading off. Russell and Mark used to spend a bit of time together working, and drinking, and building houses, and drinking, volunteer firemen, and drinking, and drinking,... and drinking.. lol. It's been nice to finally meet ... read more

So 3 days ago I took a trip to Lorne with the University as part of their beach welcome programme, there were over 100 of us in total, unfortunately Liam couldn't come with me as he's no longer a student :(! We travelled along the Great Ocean Road to get to Lorne, a picturesque road of the Victoria coastline, it really is beautiful especially in the sunshine. Once we arrived we did the usual uni introductions/talks then got shown to our rooms, there were four of us girls sharing an apartment together. The hotel we stayed in was SO much better than we thought, considering this is a trip we didn't pay a penny for, we stayed in luxury apartments with a view of the sea from the balcony! After the excitement of the room, me ... read more

Day 270 - Lorne We have a birthday shout out today to our beautiful neice Nicola who is celebrating being another year older today! We hope you have a great day lovely lady and we'll raise a glass or two in your name tonight!! Ha ha! We woke up in plenty of time to prepare for the day ahead of us. Darryl made some sandwiches then packed the rucksacks with a few snacks, supplies and drinks, today is the day we take out the girls with Daph and David. This morning was the first time we’d really checked out the amenities on the caravan site and they’re not too bad at all considering we are on pitch 5 out of 635! Admittedly its split over a few different camp grounds but the place is packed solid ... read more

Day 269 - Apollo Bay to Lorne Great free camp spot we found again last night! Grant cooked up breakfast this morning, it’s tradition that whilst he’s on holidays he has the ‘occasional’ blast of bacon and eggs - who are we to mess with tradition! We left the house with the view and convoyed down through Apollo Bay turning up towards the Mariners Lookout. The road ahead looked likely to climb right up into the clouds above us so we decided to park the caravan up and catch a lift with David and Daph, we would have made it with the caravan but it would have been a slow haul! From the car park it was a 10 minute steep climb to the lookout but wowie, what a view. The coastline looks superb this morning, ... read more

Greetings one and all, and welcome to Blog#3, where two things change. First, I get to assuage my slight guilt at always entering the exact same location for what is, after all, supposed to be a TRAVEL blog. Secondly, and more importantly if many of your comments are anything to go by, this one will feature a few PHOTOS! Thanks very much to Nina, Stan, Karen and Pete for our wonderful gift of a weekend break in Lorne on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road. Without further ado then, here is “What We Did On Our Holidays…”: The Journey Having started work on Wednesday, I managed to get the Thursday off so that we could make an early start. It’s not as bad it sounds, honestly! Unfortunately the trip clashed with Neill’s invite to join him at an ... read more
