Took us a couple of hours to look at the displays paying tribute to the Aussie Workers who shaped our nation. This is the Artesia Railway Station, 1915.

Using locally grown timber, locals teamed with an artist to create this seat that holds 35 people. It took 450 hours to create.

Bougainvillea line the streets and homes in central QLD. It seems it's the only bloom that grows here. It is used for scrubs, hedges, trellises and is often standardised. They add a stark contrast to the orange earth, the golden dry grass and silvery gums.

A small quaint town, 27 kms east of Longreach. Great little pub right next to our caravan park. Over 100 years old with drovers hats and donations to Royal Flying Doctor Service on the ceiling. You had to throw the donation with a tack and make it stick.

Yeh, power, water, showers for a while. Of course emus too. They wander around the town everywhere. I'm surprised they are not road kill.

5.30 each night is a meet and greet and some entertainment. Jokes and bush poetry by the owners. Dave got to entertain as well.

Passenger train goes along here twice a week. I've been so worried about the sheep, emus and kangaroos feeding on the tracks.
