Holidays : Airlie Beach - Townsville - Magnetic Island

FRA: Les deux dernières étapes de notre trajet le long de la côte est en direction de Cairns furent à Airlie Beach, avec ses fameuses îles Whitsunday, et Townsville, avec sa légèrement moins fameuse mais néanmoins charmante Magnetic Island.
A Airlie, notre appartement de luxe était tellement génial que nous avons décidé d’y passer une troisième nuit, au lieu des deux prévues au départ.
Les Whitsundays sont véritablement un des plus magnifiques endroits sur terre et nous y avons passé d’excellents moments. La plongée au masque et tuba sur le récif de corail était certainement un des faits saillants de ce voyage. Et puisque les scientifiques semblent plutôt unanimes pour dire que la Grande Barrière de Corail aura complètement disparu d’ici une cinquantaine d’années, nous avons tout intérêt à en profiter un maximum tant qu’elle est là.
Nous avons aussi fait un saut rapide sur Mag Island depuis Townsville, pour y passer la nuit et fractionner un peu le trajet. Malheureusement nous n’avons pas passé assez de temps là-bas pour en voir grand-chose, mais elle nous est apparue comme un endroit plutôt sympa. Au moins Oliver, Emilie et Didier y ont vu un échidné en liberté. Un fait probablement assez rare parmi les Européens !

ENG: The two last steps on our trip up the east coast to Cairns were in Airlie Beach, with its famous Whitsunday Islands, and Townsville, with its slightly less famous but nonetheless charming Magnetic Island.
In Airlie, our luxury apartment was so great we decided to stay a third night instead of just two.
The Whitsundays are truly one of the most beautiful places on earth and we had a great time there. Snorkelling on the coral reef was definitely a one of the important highlights on this trip. And since scientists seem to be pretty unanimous in saying that the Great Barrier Reef will have completely disappeared in about fifty years, we might as well take advantage of seeing as much as we can of it.
He also did a quick stint on Mag Island from Townsville, to spend the night and break up the journey a bit. Unfortunately we didn’t have time to do much there, but it seemed to be a fairly nice place. And at least Oliver, Emilie and Didier got to see an echidna in the wild. Probably quite a rare feat among Europeans !

FRA: Whitehaven fait environ sept kilomètres de long. Oliver en a parcouru une bonne partie, lors de son petit jogging matinal.
ENG: Whitehaven is about seven kilometres (4.5 miles) in length. Oliver covered most of the distance for is little morning jog.

Comme a Rolle
Exactement, c'est comme a Rolle: Il y a pas un pet d'air pour regater et Juillet-Aout sont les mois plus frais. Quant a la plage, Yvonnand ou Excenevex font largement l'affaire... Vraiment, je sais pas ce qu'on fout ici.
