The day was another rainy day in Goonellbah! We were inside all day with the children which makes the day seem to go a little slower, but it was still a good day! I must admit, one of the highlights of my day was the lunch served. We had pizza with fresh veggies on it from our wonderful chef. Our kitchen chef used to work at cafes with his mother, so, when I brag about how good of a chef/barrista he is, I truly mean it. This man's experienced. We're gourment style and spoiled at Netle In when it comes to the grub! I've noticed that a chunk of the children's songs here are sung in differnt variations, and today I was really happy to hear that over here in the land down unda, they believe ... read more

Keefy here, my first blog. You would think that I would have done this before considering how far I've flown but technology is not my forte. Steve and Kerri can take care of that stuff. Sometimes though I need a bit of me time and I have to unload and let's face it. My experiences are different from theirs. I would like to be on the road again as that's where I am truly happy but Norfolk is interesting for now. Kerri and Steve are working most days managing their resort and this gives me some time to look about and learn a bit about the place. I'll tell you something for nothing it's got its pluses but it also has its minuses. The pluses are the natural beauty and progressive cosmopolitan people. The minuses are ... read more

HI All, Well here we go again..... we came to book in for the first flight and its delayed 2 hours, and won't make our connection to Melbourne.... This then means we don't get a great deal of time to meet with you Ellen, I am sorry. At least they have us on a flight an hour later which means we still make the connection to Launceston....*sigh* For a holiday that was supposed to relieve my stress level....let me tell you it hasn't! Charlie is a little niggly, I think its upset him a but we will manage. I think I will need to go on a holiday to get over this one! Oh Well..... Lets see how we go.... Hi All! Well today was just wonderful with a very over cast day, it seemed cooler even though I doubt it is. The day started with a 7 am swim at Emily Bay again, last day today for Rhonda she was off on the 2 o’clock plane today. Even MrC came and even though he said it was cold I know he enjoyed it. Also the last day for us too as we will be on a plane at 8 am tomorrow. After breakfast we started out with only two things in mind….one to go back and look in all the shops that we hadn’t been in, and two was to go and look over the Cemetery. We went into all the shops that took our fancy and yes I bought some stuff to bring home… ... read more

Hi Everyone, Well today we had a completely free day until 6pm when we went on our last family reunion event. Tell you more about it later! This morning again started with a swim, very beautiful and I am going to miss that when I come home! After returning MrC and I had breakfast, and as MrC was having trouble with his feet we went into town to visit the shoe shop, so now he sports a lovely set of new sandals, and I have some pink thongs from Diana Ferrari! All settled with our feet, we then took off to revisit the things I wanted to re-photograph because of lack of time the first time on the tour, and MrC came along for the ride. First on the list was the giant Moreton Bay fig ... read more

Hello Everyone! Julia and Mark are you home yet? I left MrC in bed again this morning while going off with Rhonda for our 7am swim, Rhonda was right this time and we had the beach to ourselves, and only shared it with a lovely local lady called Dot. As we didn’t have to be anywhere until 11 am MrC and I had a leisurely breakfast on our balcony watching the black chooks that run around here free range. At 11 am we went off to the best day so far, a group of novas actors get together and re-enact the day the first fleeters arrived here on the island in 1780’s. The whole thing was absolutely done wonderfully …see photos, and the whole group cheered as they read out our two names Nathanial Lucas and ... read more

Hellooo One and all! Today started off cooler than the proceeding days, but at 7 am a knock on the door, its Rhonda who came to take me swimming as arranged in the sea at Emily Bay. As we were driving along, Rhonda said there was no-one there yesterday so we should be alright no-one there today….turns out it was the school swim carnival LOL and the whole island nearly turned up! I had forgotten what swimming in the sea was like. Never thought it could be so nice! Cold just for a few seconds as we got into it then we swam around for an hour, then got out and instead of feeling like you had been swimming in the sea all gritty this was just like swimming in salted water. Needless to say we ... read more

Afternoon All! Had a great sleep, must be the salt air, (had nothing to do from all the travelling I am sure! Heehee) - both of us woke fresh and ready to go. MrC caught up with his washing, while I cooked breakfast etc. MrC came back from the washing room, saying he was enjoying talking to the people with us down in the units near there, he said Oh it was really nice to talk to them.. and I say…I told you so, and he says… don’t keep going on about it…I just laugh because I knew he would love it all. All it took was getting him here! We had to turn up at 8.30 am this morning at Pinetop Tours, and off we went all around the island looking at the older settlement ... read more

Hi Everyone! Well we are here at last!!!! We were tossed out of our room at the Mercure in Sydney earlier than we wanted this morning because MrC didn’t understand that they assumed if you paid for your room you were on your way out of the hotel….. so MrC being MrC paid our bill up after breakfast so you guessed it we were out of there when we had told them we would like the room til late check out. Seems its one of those chain hotels who is perpetually cleaning changing rooms and then putting guests back in them straight away 24 hours a day. Anyway we sat in the TV room/Business Office room for an hour while we waited for the Airport shuttle bus. While we did that we caught up with lots ... read more
